ARLINGTON, Texas — Through seven games, the Dallas Cowboys’ offense has made domination look routine, moving the ball almost at will and putting points on the board in bunches.
In Sunday’s 44-22 victory over the Washington Commanders, the Cowboys delivered another statement performance. The offense was once again electric — highlighted by a three-touchdown outing from the quarterback, who now has 13 touchdown passes and zero interceptions over his past four games.
Star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb returned to form after missing three games with a high ankle sprain, racking up more than 100 yards, including a 74-yard touchdown reception. George Pickens continued his explosive playmaking with 20.5 yards per catch, though his streak of consecutive games with a touchdown came to an end at five. Tight end Jake Ferguson hauled in a score for the fourth straight game, while running back Javonte Williams eclipsed 100 rushing yards and added his sixth touchdown of the season.
Dallas has now played three games at AT&T Stadium this year and scored at least 40 points in all of them — something the franchise last accomplished in 1973.
“Who knows what we can accomplish? The sky is the limit,” said the Cowboys’ quarterback after the win.
Sunday marked the first time since Week 3 that the Cowboys’ offense was nearly at full strength, with Lamb and right guard Tyler Booker back from high ankle sprains. The lone missing starter was center Cooper Beebe, sidelined since Week 2 with a foot injury but expected to return soon.
“This is the best offense I’ve been a part of — and I’ve been on some great ones,” Lamb said. “The way we move, the way we communicate, everyone knows where to be. We can line up fast. It’s tough to stop.”
The Cowboys piled up 409 total yards, their fourth 400-yard game of the season — the most in the NFL. It was also their second game with both a 100-yard rusher and receiver, and they converted 75% of their red zone trips into touchdowns. The offense also remained perfect in goal-to-go situations, scoring a touchdown each time.
Now in his 10th season at the helm, the quarterback said this might be the most fun he’s ever had leading an offense.
“Not to knock any other group I’ve been with, but the chemistry, the trash talk, the energy — it’s all there,” he said. “We’ve got some young guys who bring that spark, and everyone works their tails off. Confidence is earned — you prove it to yourself, and then you can walk the walk.”
He became just the sixth quarterback in NFL history to record four consecutive games with at least three touchdown passes and no interceptions. Only Russell Wilson (five straight in 2015) has done better.
At AT&T Stadium, he remains undefeated against the Commanders, now 7-0, and is the only quarterback since 1933 to throw 20 touchdown passes without an interception at home against a single opponent — surpassing Tom Brady’s mark of 18 against the Steelers.
“I'm not trying to make it sound routine,” said head coach Brian Schottenheimer, “but that’s exactly what we expect from him. He’s playing great football, and we’ve got incredible weapons.”
The quarterback echoed that confidence.
“Those are two dudes — CeeDee and George,” he said. “But really, wherever the ball goes, I’m confident it’s getting caught and a play’s getting made.”
Despite the explosive numbers, nobody in the locker room seemed surprised.
“We’re doing what we expect to do every Sunday,” said Pro Bowl guard Tyler Smith. “That’s always the standard.”
