DFW continues to dominate Texas high school football. South Oak Cliff, Duncanville, and DeSoto have all punched their tickets to the UIL Texas State Football Championships, marking the second time in the last four seasons that all three programs have reached the sport’s biggest stage.

The trio’s return to state underscores the Dallas–Fort Worth area’s reputation as one of the premier high school football regions in the country. Each program navigated a demanding playoff path, to secure a spot in the championship games at AT&T Stadium.

South Oak Cliff has continued its rise as a statewide force, pairing physical defense with timely offensive execution throughout the postseason. Duncanville, long regarded as one of Texas’ most consistent 6A programs, once again showcased depth, speed, and championship pedigree on its run to state. DeSoto’s return further solidifies its place among the UIL elite, blending explosive playmakers with disciplined coaching in critical playoff moments.

This marks a familiar scene for Texas football fans. In two of the past four seasons, SOC, Duncanville, and DeSoto have all reached the UIL State Championships together, a rare accomplishment that highlights sustained excellence rather than a one-year surge.

As championship week approaches, all three programs will aim to turn another deep playoff run into state titles. No matter the outcomes, their presence alone reinforces one undeniable truth: DFW remains the heartbeat of Texas high school football.

You can catch all 3 teams in action on Saturday, December 20th, 2025 with South Oak Cliff taking on Randle at 11:00 am, followed by the Duncanville Panthers vs North Shore Mustangs at 3:00 pm, in what will be their 5th state championship matchup in the last 8 years. The night and final game will feature the Desoto Eagles vs CE King at 7:00 pm.
