North Shore Dominates Lake Travis 28-6, Punches Ticket Back to UIL Texas State Championship
HOUSTON, TX — North Shore is headed back to a familiar destination.
The Mustangs delivered a dominant performance Saturday evening at Aldine Stadium, overpowering the Lake Travis Cavaliers 28-6 in the UIL Texas high school football semifinals. From the opening kickoff, North Shore controlled the game on both sides of the ball, showcasing superior physicality and depth to secure another trip to the UIL Texas State Championship.
Lake Travis entered the matchup with championship pedigree, but the Cavaliers’ offense struggled to find any rhythm against North Shore’s relentless defense. The Mustangs consistently won the battle at the line of scrimmage, shutting down the run game and applying constant pressure that prevented Lake Travis from sustaining drives.
While the Cavaliers were held scoreless through much of the contest, North Shore’s offense methodically wore them down. Explosive plays mixed with disciplined execution allowed the Mustangs to build separation and keep Lake Travis playing from behind all night. North Shore’s athleticism proved to be the difference, as Lake Travis was unable to match the speed and strength across the field.
Defensively, the Mustangs set the tone early and never let up. Missed assignments were rare, tackling was sharp, and coverage remained tight, limiting big-play opportunities. Every possession felt contested, and momentum never swung in Lake Travis’ favor.
By the final whistle, the 28-6 scoreline reflected what was evident throughout the game: North Shore was the more complete team. The victory sends the Mustangs back to the UIL Texas State Championship, a stage they know well, and reinforces their reputation as one of the state’s premier high school football programs.
As championship week approaches, North Shore will look to carry this dominant performance forward as they prepare to compete for another state title at AT&T Stadium.
